As soon as I decided to do blogs about the weddings I am lucky to be a part of, I knew Amy and Paul’s wedding was a must!
Not only is their cake one of my favourites, and a popular design, they’re also one of my favourite couples I have worked with!
They first had the idea to go with a naked cake, a popular choice for a rustic theme and the ashes barn. After securing their wedding date we arranged a consultation (which almost got cancelled due to the deep snow!) and after going through my albums and seeing the display cakes they completely changed their minds and fell in love with an iced design!
They chose a blush pink watercolour effect, to match their colour theme which complemented the venue colours perfectly! The touch of gold leaf gave it that extra sparkle and the beautiful fresh flowers from The Topiary Tree, which matched their other decorations and flowers.
“We made all the decorations ourselves. We had hand written signs, bunting for the barns and courtyard, log slices and glass jars wrapped in lace for the tables and photographs of Paul and I as children on the doors to the toilets.”
Amy and Paul met when they were both working at B&Q. For their wedding breakfast from the amazing caterers Jenkinsons, they chose to go with a Host-a-roast, which is where a guest from each table carves the meat to serve! (How awesome does that sound!)
Instead of the usual aprons, Amy and Paul surprised their chosen “carvers“ with B&Q aprons to wear!
I've added a video below of their wedding highlights by Big picture weddings, make sure you check it out! I’m one of those people that cries at happy things (I blame my mom as she’s the same!) so yes.. I cried at Pauls Vows!
Also check out the other brilliant suppliers listed below!
So glad you both had such an amazing day! Thank you for letting me be a part of it and I'm glad you liked your cake!!
